ISLAMABAD/QUETTA, JUL 13 /DNA/ – The Education Testing Council (ETC), Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, has successfully conducted an aptitude test for the award of 400 scholarships to female candidates from Balochistan. The scholarships will facilitate admission to four-year B.Ed./BS (Education) degree programmes at leading universities across Pakistan.
A total of 3,147 female candidates from all districts of Balochistan registered for the aptitude test organised in collaboration with the School Education Department (SED), Government of Balochistan and the Project Management Unit, Balochistan Education Support Programme (PMU-BESP). To ensure equal access and provide candidates with the opportunity to compete on merit at locations nearest to their residence, ETC established test centres in 14 cities across the province, including Quetta, Uthal, Khuzdar, Hub, Gwadar, Turbat, Panjgur, Nushki, Pishin, Muslim Bagh, Loralai, Zhob, Dera Murad Jamali, and Sibi.
The aptitude test was conducted simultaneously at all test centres under standardised testing procedures and strict monitoring arrangements, ensuring uniformity, transparency, and fairness throughout the process.
During his visit to the test centre established at the Expo Center, University of Balochistan, Quetta, Secretary SED Balochistan Mr. Lal Khan Jaffar expressed satisfaction with the professional arrangements and transparent conduct of the aptitude test. He appreciated the coordinated efforts of ETC, PMU-BESP, and the supporting institutions in successfully organising the examination.
Out of the 3,147 registered candidates, 1,694 female candidates appeared in the aptitude test conducted across the 14 test centres. To ensure smooth, transparent, and efficient conduct of the examination, ETC deployed 253 invigilation staff and 14 Monitoring Officers across the province.
The successful conduct of the aptitude test simultaneously in 14 cities, despite the prevailing operational and security challenges, reflects ETC’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and merit in standardised testing. The development marks another significant milestone in providing talented female students of Balochistan with fair and merit-based opportunities to pursue higher education and contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.
