PFF President, Saudi Envoy discuss football cooperation

ISLAMABAD, FEB 20: /DNA/ – In a major boost to Pakistan’s football ambitions, President of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), Syed Mohsen Gilani, met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, to discuss strategic cooperation aimed at revitalizing and elevating football development in the country.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of football and enhancing collaboration through joint initiatives, exchange programs, and institutional partnerships.

PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani expressed his gratitude to the Government of Saudi Arabia for its continued support in promoting sports. He stated that Saudi Arabia has always been a sincere friend of Pakistan and that its cooperation in the sports sector is highly valued.

“Pakistan has immense football talent. Our focus is to strengthen grassroots structures, improve coaching standards, upgrade infrastructure, and provide international exposure to young players,” Gilani said. He added that the PFF is implementing a comprehensive plan to promote football from the grassroots to the professional level across the country.

Gilani further remarked, “We deeply value the support of the Saudi government. Enhanced cooperation, training programs, and friendly matches between the two countries will give new momentum to football in Pakistan. Our goal is to see Pakistan earn a respectable position on the global football stage.”

Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s full support for the promotion and development of football in Pakistan. He emphasized that sports play a vital role in strengthening the brotherly ties between the two nations and expressed confidence that enhanced collaboration would contribute to the growth of the game.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding sports cooperation in the future.
