LAHORE, FEB 4: President Pakistan Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif along with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif met Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam to discuss bilateral relations, trade, energy, and regional situation.

They reiterated their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed the Iranian Ambassador, who expressed gratitude for the grand reception. She also invited Iranian investors to invest in agriculture, information technology, and tourism sectors of Pakistan, and expressed her strong desire to enhance economic and social ties between the two brotherly Islamic countries.

Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam thanked Prime Minister Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar for their diplomatic support on various international forums. President Pakistan Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said,”If doors of negotiations are kept open with generosity, major issues can be resolved through dialogue.” He added that Iran had faced circumstances with great courage, we have many prayers and good wishes for Iran, as the people of Iran are very dear to us. Iranian Ambassador said,”Pakistan and Iran are like two bodies with one soul. The Muslim world is in dire need of great leaders like Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the leadership of Muslim world and the promotion of Pak-Iran relations.” He added that Iranian nation always prays for Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s health and safety, as he is fully aware of the regional situation. He underscored that considering Pakistan’s stature, they deem it necessary to bring matters to the knowledge of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on behalf of people and government of Iran. He acknowledged that Nawaz Sharif Sahib is a pillar protecting Pakistan.

Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam said that Pakistan and Iran are one region, one community, and one nation; there is a great depth in their mutual relations. He added that they are deeply grateful to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for resolving matters related to Persian language and students.
