ISLAMABAD: The Serena Hotels Tennis Masters Cup concluded with exhilarating final matches and a closing ceremony, celebrating outstanding talent and sportsmanship. The tournament brought together Pakistan’s top tennis players, reaffirming Serena Hotels’ commitment to promoting sports through its Sports Diplomacy Initiative.
Since 2015, Serena Hotels has been organizing the Serena National Ranking Championship in Islamabad in collaboration with the Pakistan Tennis Federation. Last year, the tournament was restructured into the Serena Tennis Masters Cup to ensure broader participation from across Pakistan. This new format has made the competition more inclusive and competitive. The tournament’s first leg was held in Peshawar, the second in Faisalabad, and the final leg culminated in Islamabad.
In the Women’s Singles category, Ushna Sohail secured the title with an impressive performance, while Shiza Sajid finished as runner-up after a hard-fought match.
The Men’s Singles final was an intense battle, with Aqeel Khan emerging victorious and Barkatullah finishing as runner-up. The Men’s Doubles saw top players, including Aqeel Khan, Aisam-ul-Haq, Shahzad Khan, and Muhammad Abid, competing in a closely contested match that ended in a tie due to unfavorable weather conditions, highlighting the exceptional skill and competitive spirit of all participants.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Pakistan Tennis Federation President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi praised Serena Hotels for its dedication to supporting tennis in Pakistan.
