LAHORE, FEB 28: /DNA/ – Punjab Education Department has strictly prohibited private schools from collecting tuition fees for March and April from matriculation students, following complaints of unauthorized charges.

Secretary Schools Education Khalid Nazir Wattoo issued directives to all district education authorities, warning schools against demanding advance payments. “It is not permissible to ask students for March and April fees,” he stated, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against institutions found violating the orders.

Despite the instructions, reports indicate that some private schools have withheld roll number slips from students who have yet to pay their dues.

The education secretary assured that such complaints are being reviewed, and authorities will take necessary measures to ensure compliance.

With matriculation exams set to commence on March 3, Punjab Education Department aims to prevent any financial burden on students and their families. Schools found guilty of demanding additional fees will face disciplinary action.
