LALAMUSA, DEC 22 /DNA/ – The Kisaan Convention, hosted by renowned PPP leader Nadeem Asghar Kaira at the historic Kaira House in Lalamusa, proved to be a landmark event for the agricultural community. As the second-largest Kisaan Convention after Sargodha, it brought together prominent political figures, farmers, and community leaders to discuss pressing issues faced by Punjab’s agricultural sector.
The event was graced by two notable chief guests: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider and Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi, who lauded the efforts of Nadeem Asghar Kaira in championing the cause of farmers.
Organized under the aegis of the Kisaan Committee, which includes stalwarts like Sajjad Ul Hassan, Ijaz Samma, and Inayat Shah, along with PPP Punjab’s General Secretary Hassan Murtaza and other key figures such as former federal minstier Qamar Zaman Kaira and Zia Mohiuddin, the convention underscored a united effort to amplify the voices of the farming community.
The speakers, including seasoned politicians and Kisaan representatives, highlighted the dire challenges facing Punjab’s farmers, from water shortages and rising input costs to inadequate policy support.
Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider, in his address, committed to taking the farmers’ grievances to the provincial government and assured proactive steps to resolve their issues. He emphasized the PPP’s historic role in prioritizing agricultural development and reiterated the party’s continued support for farmers.
Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of similar conventions across Pakistan to raise awareness and forge solutions. He praised Nadeem Asghar Kaira’s leadership and foresight in organizing such impactful gatherings.
