LAHORE, Jul 22 (DNA): Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi
Saturday visited the historic Badshahi Masjid and issued directions for
the upgradation of the Tabarukat Gallery located within the Mosque.
During a surprise visit to the Mosque, Mohsin Naqvi expressed his dismay
at the plight of the Tabarukat holy section.
The section, which features a collection of ancient artifacts related to
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family as well as rare copies of the
Holy Quran penned in gold and silver, is visited by Muslims from around
the world.
The CM Mohsin Naqvi remarked that arrangements for keeping the sacred
blessings attributed to the greatest personalities of the world should
also be of the highest quality. “Every sacred blessing should be
preserved separately in the best way,” he added.
He issued orders to form a special committee for the upgradation of the
Tabarukat section that would present a comprehensive and practicable
plan to the government within a few days.
Naqvi also asked the authorities to replace the wet mats of the Badshahi
Masjid premises.
Secretary Communication and Works Department Punjab, and Commissioner
Deputy Commissioner Lahore were also present on the occasion.
