PESHAWAR, Jun 18 (DNA): After the Biparjoy Cyclon in the south of the
country, the northwest areas of Pakistan also become under the threat of
heavy rains and storms.
According to a private TV channel, heavy rains and storms collapsed
several walls and damaged many properties in different cities of the
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday.
The reports said at least 17 people were injured by collapsing roofs and
walls in the KP due to the rains and strong winds.
In different areas of Bannu, teams of Rescue 1122 shifted 15 injured
persons including three children to the hospital. These 3 children were
injured when a wall fell on them due to rain in the Surani area of
Bannu.
In the area of Khojari, a man was seriously injured while five people
were injured in the Charmarri area of the city due to the collapse of a
wall on them.
In Lakky Marwat’s tehsil Norang, a man was injured due to the roof of
the veranda falling off near the police station. The injured person was
rushed to the hospital.
A truck travelling from Peshawar to Karachi overturned due to strong
winds near Manjiwala, injuring one person.
The medical team of Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to Tehsil
Headquarters Hospital Sarai Norang after providing first aid.
It should be noted that in the same month, 27 people were killed and 146
injured in various incidents due to a strong wind storm in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa.
