KARACHI, APR 14 (DNA) — The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) gave approval to another UAE airline to start flight operations in Pakistan. To facilitate travellers between Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Pakistani government granted permission for Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to operate its flights to Pakistn.

The federal government’s decision to allow Wizz Air Abu Dhabi comes weeks after Turkish airline SunExpress was allowed to start operations in Pakistan. SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa has applied for starting operations in the country and after the completion of formalities.

Recently, Ethiopian Airlines also announced direct flight operations between Karachi and Addis Ababa at the start of May. The Ethiopian Airlines will commence flight operations from May 1 from Karachi. The airliner will operate four flights weekly, say sources.

The Ethiopian flag carrier previously operated the Addis Ababa-Karachi route between 1966 and 1971, and again between 1993 and 2004. — DNA
