Improving intelligence gathering, equipping police a must to combat terrorism: Khan

ISLAMABAD: /DNA/ – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and senior party leadership strongly condemned the terrorist suicide attack in police lines mosque Peshawar and expressed sympathies with the family of the martyrs.

PTI Chairman, in a condolence message on Monday, strongly condemned the terrorist suicide attack in police lines mosque Peshawar during prayers. “My prayers and condolences go to victims’ families,” he added.

Imran Khan stressed the need: “It is imperative we improve our intelligence gathering & properly equip our police forces to combat the growing threat of terrorism.”

PTI Central Secretary General Asad Umar strongly condemned the Peshawar mosque blast and expressed deep sorrow over the casualties.

Asad said that the attack in the mosque was regrettable and condemnable and added that with the growing economic crisis in the country, an alarming upsurge in terrorism was also witnessed.

PTI Central Secretary Information Farrukh Habib said that Peshawar police line terrorist action was condemnable and all sympathies were with the family of the martyrs.

However, Farrukh Habib lamented that the blood of the martyrs was not yet dried up and the propaganda to promote specific narrative of postponing the elections was started in view of the precarious security situation in the country.
