PNCA organizes colourful event to mark Independence Day

ISLAMABAD, AUG 19 /DNA/ – Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has organized various cultural programmes to celebrate 75th Independence Day of Pakistan in a befitting , on Aug 19. Yesterday students of at least twelve educational institutions of twin cities celebrated the day by presenting a very colourful event.

The programme included tableaus, national and patriotic song recitals. These included ” Jeevay Jeeway Pakistan”, “Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhy”, “Khayaal Rakhna”, “Ye Watan Hamara Hai” and “Shukria Pakistan” etc.  Boys and girls also gave their views on the Pakistan movement, importance of independence through excellent speeches.

These presentations highlighted how of our ancestors struggled and endured pain to achieve their goal of having a separate homeland for themselves and the generations to come. A puppet show by NPT of PNCA was the main attraction of the day in which various skits were presented commensurating the occasion.

Children were educated as to how Quaid-e-Azam gave Muslims their separate homeland where they can lead their lives freely and according to the principles of Islam. Various social issues, our nation is confronting, were also highlighted so as to create awareness for their eradication among the young generation. Audience lauded the efforts of PNCA and demanded that such events may be organized frequently for educating the children of their history and instilling patriotism in them.

Renowned cartoonist and creator of the character “Gogi” Ms. Nigaar Nazar was the Chief guest on the occasion. She highly appreciated the performance of the students and efforts of their teachers. In conclusion shields and certificates were distributed among the participants by the Chief guest.=DNA
