ISLAMABAD, FEB 21 /DNA/ – Ambassador of Poland Maciej Pisarski called on the Leader of the House in Senate, Senator Dr. Shahzad Wasim at his residence.  During the meeting, issues of mutual interest including the overall situation of the region and situation in Afghanistan in particular were discussed in detail. Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem also congratulated the Ambassador of Poland on assuming diplomatic responsibilities in Pakistan and expressed his best wishes.  He said that Pakistan values its relationship with Poland which is based on mutual trust.  Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem said that Pakistan values its relations with Poland and diplomatic relations between the two countries have been established for decades.  The Pakistani community in Poland is acting as a bridge between the two countries. He said that there was a need to make the  political, diplomatic and parliamentary relations more active and there was ample scope for increasing the trade volume. Accelerating the exchange of business and trade delegations can boost trade activities.

Senator Dr. Shahzad Wasim said that Polish investors could invest in Pakistan by taking advantage of the Pakistan government’s geo-economics policy. The Leader of the House in the Senate said that the growing trend of Islamophobia in India is a matter of concern. Ongoing atrocities, barbarism, erosion of fundamental human rights is a serious violation of international law committted by the Indian armed forces in occupied Kashmir. The Polish Ambassador while agreeing with the Dr. Shahzad wasim’s views said that Pakistan and Poland are good friends and both the countries are further enhancing their economic cooperation.
