ISLAMABAD, Jan. 18 (DNA): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on CPEC Affairs Khalid Mansoor and Minister of State, Chairman of Board of Investment (BoI) Muhammad Azfar Ahsan at a meeting agreed to facilitate and invite leading Chinese investors for B2B and B2G collaboration, taking all stakeholders on board.

The meeting was specifically focused on Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to China, Gwadar Pro reported on Tuesday.

During the meeting Muhammad Azfar Ahsan said that Pakistan accords top priority to the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

It was agreed that the forthcoming visit would further strengthen the already impregnable bond with China. The two sides decided to collaborate and focus on projects currently in pipeline whilst exploring further avenues for investment.

As Prime Minister Imran Khan is bracing for a three-day official visit to China during the first week of February 2022, Prime Minister Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and BoI have started interactions with other line ministries to finalize agenda of premier’s meetings with Chinese leadership and private sector companies.

In addition to geopolitical and defense cooperation at the highest level, Prime Minister will have high level interactions with the Chinese private sector to attract investment in the second phase of CPEC.

According to the sources, BoI has been tasked by the National Security Division (NSD) to collect the data of notable Chinese companies with a definite plan to invest in Pakistan.
