SARGODHA, APR 14 (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Wednesday that two to three changes would be made in the federal cabinet in the next few days.
Talking to the media in Sargodha, when a reporter asked him a question about estranged Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen, he said sugar price soared by Rs26 in just over a year. “What else could I do? These people looted the country by forming cartels,” he regretted.
The prime minister said protecting people was the government’s duty. He said he was ready to listen to each and everybody. PM Imran said it was not possible that there were two different sets of laws: one for the rich and the other for the poor.
“Owners of sixty to seventy sugar mills pocketed around Rs140 billion,” he said and added the authorities had evidence of corruption by those against whom the law was now taking its course.
“If there is no accountability in a society, then it is of no use living in a society,” the prime minister said, and added, “Situation was bad prior to the emergence of the state of Medina. It was only when the rich and influential were taken to the task for their deeds that improvement was witnessed.”
He opined that inflation in the country was part of a bigger problem. PM Imran said he was himself monitoring the distribution of food items under the Ramadan Package. = DNA
