Alkaram has released a new collection but one certain design looks like we’ve seen it elsewhere before.
One kurta on their website boasts delicate floral embroidery that would look great otherwise:

Usually we’d be wondering why a model wearing a kurta has a bunny head in her hands. Instead, we’ve got the BTS fandom in Pakistan calling them out on plagiarism.
Because if you have K-pop fever and adore the globally popular Korean band, you’ll notice the designs look exactly like their 2017 album’s cover.

If there’s one thing you need to know about BTS fans, it’s that you do not mess with BTS and expect to survive.
Apparently @alkaramstudio lacks the ability to hire designers that can make original designs. They literally COPIED bts’s LY:Her album art and embroidered it on a shirt CLAIMING it to be their own. This isn’t just a shop selling merch. Its AN ACTUAL CLOTHING BRAND.
Apparently Alkaram stole the artwork from a BTS album and copied it on a kurta. Wrong as it is, the kurta ain’t even cute 🙂
VOTE FOR BTS ON MAMA!!! | imari☆@yoongistar393Is it okay to buy this first and then report it to bighit
no, It’s art theft and not okay at all. The money will go to alkaram and not BTS. So, if you love BTS then don’t buy it

Did Alkaram think they could get away with copying a Korean band’s album cover because many wouldn’t recognise it?
Is it that difficult to create original designs or hire creative folks who can deliver originality?
BTS Pak Official l@bts_pk_official
A well known clothing brand of Pakistan @alkaramstudio copied a design of BTS LOVE YOURSELF- Her album cover design. It’s in an exact formation. This is really disappointed that they copied it when they actually can make their own designs.
Please report this to bighit.
This is so embarrassing, alkaram is such a huge brand and they doing shi* like this…makes me wonder if the rumors about these brands ripping off and stealing from small artists is true..
And if you are taking ‘inspiration’ from someone else, at least credit them for it. You’d actually get better traction for it. Although even then, to blatantly copy a design is not okay.
Tae’s girl@ZoyaKha29637489
that my Pakistani renowned brand copied their album design and did not give them credit! Please give BTS the credit for their creativity. Because copying a design and not giving credit, is lawfully wrong and you will be sued. Do take this shirt down or give credit.@BTS_twt
It’s not about giving credit. It’s a crime to use someone else’s design without their permission. You have to pay the person who created the design and ask for their permission to use it. Alkaram didn’t do any of this amd made money by selling that kurti which makes it illegal
A fan even got in touch with Alkaram and shared their claim of it being an original design.
Bish IT’s me….BTS Ki Chui@chuiIsBangtaned
omg i have checked it on website it’s freaking real and it’s true…@alkaramstudio ab ya na kahna ka hm na inspiration li thi……
While another fan called them out and the brand admitted to not being aware.
I contacted Alkaram via Insta. They are working on it.@bts_pk_official @pakpromo_league
For now Alkaram has taken down the shirt from the store and will be removing it from all outlets.
While we appreciate the action, we wish this hadn’t happened in the first place.
meganeatisto@meganeatistoIf anyone thinks its not necessary to report (and that this brand can keep profiting off of this artwork without consequences) then you do you.
But as an artist, art theft is a very serious issue.
And the brands here son’t give a sh*t because people would buy it anyways.
UPDATE!!!
The “sold out” sign shown on site was not because it was actually sold out.
The shirts will be removed from stores in the next few days too!
Many Pakistani fans have already emailed BTS’ agency (BigHit Ent) about the issue but there has been no response as of yet.
Update: Alkaram has shared an official statement with Images regarding the matter.
“Thank you for pointing this out,” said the brand. “We have removed the outfit in question from our Ecommerce portal and are in process of withdrawing from stores. Moreover, the designer responsible is no longer associated with Alkaram Studio.”
They added, “Alkaram remains committed to respecting designs, authenticity and originality, and will continue to do so to the best of our abilities.”
