Says Sino-Pak ties growing with each passing day; vows to learn from Chinese experiences: Ambassador Yao Jing says 2nd phase of CPEC to bring more development

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 26 (DNA) President Dr. Arif Alvi has said Pakistan and China are time-tested friends and this relationship has strengthened and diversified with the each passing day.
President Alvi made these remarks while speaking as chief guest on the occasion of 70th Anniversary of Founding of People’s Republic of China. Ambassador of China Yao Jing welcomed the guests.
Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar, Federal Ministers, Advisers, members of diplomatic corps and large number members of civil society attended the reception.
The President further said China happens to be the second largest economy of the world and a country that is making huge strides in all fields.
President Alvi further said China shelved its contentious issues and went for new ideas and goals that is why it has now become World’s second largest economy.
“It was an historical occasion when people Republic of China was established 70 years ago. Since then China is constantly on the move. The country has pulled its huge population out of poverty, which indeed a landmark achievement and a step worth-emulating, especially for the developing countries”, he added.
The President also quoted Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent statement in New York where he categorically termed China a success story and vowed to learn from the Chinese experiences in various fields.
China, the President said, has been a peaceful nation and wants peace both at home and aboard. China never attached any strings to its development projects in various countries including Pakistan, which speaks volumes for the greatness of this great country.
President Arif Alvi said China has always supported Pakistan on all issues including Kashmir. Chinese support has always been forthcoming whenever needed by Pakistan.
“On majority of issues Pakistan and China think alike. On Afghanistan we share same views while on Kashmir issue China always supported us whenever India tried to isolate us”.
The President said the most important thing which we can learn from China is how to improve our economy. Pakistan, as we know is a struggling economy and countries like China who have immense experience in this field needed to be reached out, in this regard.
Earlier, the Ambassador of China Yao Jing in his remarks thanked President and other guests for attending the Chinese day reception.
He said Pakistan was the first Muslim country that established diplomatic relations with China.
He said China over the years had pulled over 700 million people out of poverty. Despite the fact that China is the second largest economy in the world even then China has a lot of challenges as well.
China is a responsible member of the international community. We believe in state to state relations based on mutual respect and shared future.
For 7o years Pakistan has been the best friend of China. We stand together to safeguard each others sovereignty and integrity. We stand together ameliorate fate of those people who are still living in poverty.
He said both countries also stand together to promote regional peace and stability adding “we are glad that Prime Minister Imran Khan is leading the country towards peace and prosperity”.
He said the CPEC is moving into the second stage. In this phase more resources shall be given to social and industrial development with a view to improving and strengthening regional development and connectivity.=DNA
