ISLAMABAD, JUL 27 (DNA) – Ambassador of Maldives hosted a reception to celebrate Independence Day of Maldives.Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry was the chief guest while a large number of guests hailing from various walks of life attended the reception.Ambassador Ahmed Saleem in his brief remarks touched upon bilateral relations between Maldives and Pakistan.
He said bilateral relations have seen marked improvement in the recent days adding both sides are committed to further expand and diversify these relations.
He further said recent high level visits between the two countries have contributed significantly towards strengthening of relations between the two countries.
He hoped both sides will continue to strive for further strengthening of bilateral relations.
Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry also spoke on the occasion and thanked the ambassador for inviting him as the chief guest.
The minister congratulated people of Maldives on the occasion of Independence day and wished them peace and prosperity.
The minister was all praise for beauty and grandeur of Maldives as a country adding if there were a heaven on earth then it was Maldives.
He also highlighted various areas where both Pakistan and Maldives have been cooperating since long.
The minister said enhancing of trade and investment ties with Maldives was at the top of the government agenda.=DNA
