Sheikh Rasheed to persuade Asad Umar to remain part of federal cabinet

LAHORE (DNA) – Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed on Saturday stressed on the significance of sustainable economy for development of Pakistan by stating that “a country is tore apart not on its borders instead by frequent attacks on its economy.”He spoke to the media at Railways Headquarters in Lahore, and termed it “a conspiracy” that a massive amount of state’s money was spent on building roads and streets.“Only one ministers was terminated from the federal cabinet, while Asad Umar resigned himself,” he disclosed, adding that former finance minister Asad Umar had strived to improve the state of economy, however the premier has made a right decision.He gave an example of Russia to emphasise on importance of economy for any country, and said that Russia was disintegrated due to economic crisis.Rasheed stated that he would himself approach Umar to persuade him to remain a part of the federal cabinet.“When Imran Khan formed the government, the country’s resources were already plundered,” he said, adding that the premier would decide about the appropriate designations of the ministers.Regarding political career of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, he said they have no future.“Only Shehbaz Sharif is calling for an NRO,” he said.He said that the current parliamentary form of the government should continue in the country, and anticipated that PM Imran Khan would complete five years of his tenure of the government.He termed Pakistan Railways “a backbone of the state’s economy” and said ML1 would be signed soon in the presence of the prime minister.“Under ML1, trains will run with the minimum speed of 160km per hour. The travel time between Karachi and Lahore will be reduced to 8 hours.”Rasheed concluded that under new projects of railways, 150,000 people would be recruited.
