Envoys of various countries present credentials to President Arif Alvi

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Envoys-designate of Thailand, Sri Lanka, Austria, Canada, Spain and Jordan presented their credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi in an impressive credentials ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Monday. Later, the Ambassadors/High Commissioners separately called on the President.

Speaking on the occasion, The President said that Pakistan wants to further strengthen its relations with all friendly countries.

The President emphasized that today’s Pakistan provides very conducive environment for better investment and business opportunities and hoped that investors from these countries will avail them by investing in diverse areas.

He also emphasized that regular exchange of bilateral delegations is essential for strengthening people to people contact and forging strong political and economic linkages.

The President felicitated the newly appointed Ambassadors/High Commissioners to Pakistan and hoped that they would work for further strengthening the existing ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.

The envoys who presented their credentials included Ambassador-designate of Thailand Mr. Pornpop Uampidhaya, High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka Mr. Noordeen Mohamed Shaheid, Ambassador-designate of Austria Mr. Mag. Nicolaus Keller, High Commissioner-designate of Canada Ms. Wendy Christine Gilmour, Ambassador-designate of Spain Mr. Manuel Duran Gimenez-Rico and Ambassador-designate of Jordan Mr. Ibrahim Yali Moh’d (Ostaalmadani).

Earlier, each envoy-designate arrived at the main gate of the Aiwan-e-Sadr in a horse driven carriage. On the occasion, the National Anthem of Pakistan and their respective countries were played and the envoys designate were also presented Guard of Honour.
