PM Imran invites Sidhu to ground-breaking of Kartarpur Corridor

ISLAMABAD:  (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited former Indian cricketer and politician Naujot Sindh Sidhu to visit Pakistan to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of Kartarpur border corridor with India.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor on November 28.

Sidhu has accepted the invitation of the prime minister of Pakistan.

Naujot Sindh Sidhu talking to media said that he is proud to be invited by Prime Minister Imran Khan to attend the inaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor. ” I will happily attend the ceremony,” he said.

Navjot Sindh Sidhu in a talk show had wished to visit Pakistan. “Imran Khan is my friend. I will come, walking on one leg, if he would invite me”, Sidhu said.

In a telephone call recently, he had expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistan government for opening Kartarpur border.

In a telephone call to senator Faisal Javed Khan he said that the Sikh community’s longstanding demand had been fulfilled by the Pakistani government.

He said Pakistan’s measures will bring peace and brotherhood among the two neighboring countries.

“I am thankful to Pakistan’s government from the bottom of my heart.”

Sidhu said that he could not forget the love which he received in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan will break ground on the Kartarpur facilities on Nov 28.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said in a tweet: “Pakistan has already conveyed to India it’s decision to open Kartarpura Corridor for Baba Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary. PM Imran Khan will do break ground at Kartarpura facilities on 28th November. We welcome the Sikh community to Pakistan for this auspicious occasion.”

His tweet came on the heels of Indian government’s endorsement of Pakistan’s offer to open Kartarpur border to facilitate Sikh pilgrims travelling to Pakistan.
