ISLAMABAD, MAY 18 (DNA) – The office-bearers of Pakistan Romania Friendship Association (PRFA) for the year 2014-15 have been announced. Syed Ahmed will continue to be the president of the association for second consecutive term. The office-bearers were announced in a meeting held at the resident of Ambassador of Romania Emian ION, who is the patron of the association.
Other members of the PRFA include, Zafar Bakhtawari Secretary General, Asif Choudhry Vice President, Ansar Mahmood Bhatti Media Advisor, Amjad Butt Legal Advisor. Mrs. Elisha Malik was appointed as the executive secretary of the association. Three member executive committee would comprise Mansoor ur Rehman, Shoeb Ahmed and Ms. Sabah Aslam.
Ambassador of Romania while speaking on the occasion hoped the newly-elected office-bearers would put in their best efforts to promote friendship between the countries.
Ambassador Emlian added, Romania and Pakistan enjoy cordial relations, which have touched new heights during his five year tenure in Pakistan. “During this period many bilateral agreements were signed between the two sides in various fields including, education, culture, defence and economy’, he added.
The President and Secretary General of the association in their brief speeches thanked the house for reposing confidence in them adding their first and foremost priority shall be to further cement brotherly ties between Pakistan and Romania.
The ambassador announced to arrange a trip for the newly elected office-bearers to Romania in next few months. The association members will have a chance to meet with the Romanian officials and members of civil society during their visit, which among other things, would greatly help promote people to people contacts between the two countries.= DNA
