ISLAMABAD, MAR 25 (DNA): The newly constructed Islamabad Airport, which was due to be inaugurated on 23rd of March 2018, has now completed and will start operating from next month April 20th. It was disclosed by Civil Aviation Authority officials, on Sunday. The CAA has sent standard Performa to all stakeholders for input regarding shifting from Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIP) to Islamabad International Air port( IIAP).
The newly constructed Islamabad International Airport is fully equipped with advance technology.
As per NHA Chairman Jawad Anwaar, work on the Airport Metro Bus Project will be completed by May 15, 2018 thus enabling people to have an easy access to the new airport. Work on Metro bus track is in full swing and most of the sections have already been completed.
The NHA chairman further added that 28 major connectivity projects have been completed since 2013. The projects span over a road infrastructure network of 2,520 km. These projects were completed for Rs 235.69 billion.
The prime minister had appreciated NHA and its team over their progress and directed that ongoing projects must be completed at the earliest.
The new airport will have modern Striker 3000 firefighting trucks to combat any unwanted situation. The truck is a great addition to the modern facilities in the new airport.
Meanwhile people have welcomed the announcement of the Civil Aviation Authority regarding opening of the new airport. =DNA
