Indonesia, Pakistan friendship deep-rooted: Ambassador Amri

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 23 (DNA) . Ambassador of Indonesia Iwan Suyudhie Amri has said Indonesia and Pakistan enjoy deep-rooted relations adding bilateral cooperation between the two nations has increased manifold. The Indonesia ambassador expressed these views while talking to a select group of people belonging to all walks of life. The ambassador hosted the event to recognize services of those Pakistanis who had contributed towards strengthening of relations between the two countries. The ambassador further said Pakistani fruits are very famous in Indonesia especially kinows. From next year, he said, Indonesia shall start importing mangoes from Pakistan also. Likewise he said there is huge market for Pakistani meat in Indonesia.

Currently price of meat in Indonesia is about 10 USD per kg but if we import meat from Pakistan then Indonesian people will have to pay only USD 5 or 6 per kg.

While talking about visa regime, the Indonesian ambassador said his country had relaxed visa procedures for Pakistanis with a view to facilitating more and more exporters to come to Indonesia and explore various business opportunities.

Ambassador Amri said some salient features of new visa regime included validity of passport for six months only. Previously 18 months passport validity was required. Likewise all Indonesian missions abroad can now process visa applications adding from near future the visa fees shall be charged in Pakistani rupees.

He said due to these arrangements the business activity between the two countries shall surely get a considerable boost.

To promote tourism, the ambassador said, soon a delegation of Pakistani travel agents will visit various cities of Indonesia. The purpose of this activity is to unravel huge tourism potential of Indonesia. He said even in tourism sector Indonesia was ready to be partner of Pakistan.

Ambassador Amri in the end hoped Indonesia, Pakistan friendship will grow stronger even in the days to come. He resolved to work hard and sincerely, together with his Pakistani friends, in order achieve this end. DNA
