ISLAMABAD, MAY 23 (DNA) – Ambassador of Romania Nicolae Goia has said he is keen to see relations between Romania and Pakistan growing at a fast speed, adding Pakistan is a safe country and it should therefore have more and more foreign investments. He expressed these views while speaking during the inaugural meeting of Pakistan, Romania Forum (PRF), held on Tuesday at his residence. The Romanian ambassador further said, Romania and Pakistan enjoy excellent relations and hoped these relations will further be cemented in the coming days.
He said Pakistan is very important country for this region and for Europe also. Pakistan indeed has a different perception what is portrayed generally in terms of security situation and business climate.
Ambassador Goia said, he expected the newly established forum to contribute towards promotion and strengthening of relations in all fields including culture, education, tourism, people to people contacts etc.
He said his doors shall always be open for the Forum people and he will gladly extend his support whenever needed.
Ambassador Goia wished the forum a success with the hope that scope and ambit of this Forum shall also be expanded.
Zahid Maqbool the President of the PRF in his brief remarks assured the Romanian embassy that he and his team shall work arduously to promote relations between the two countries.
He said, Pakistan now doubt is a safe country for investments and visit adding their focus shall be on strengthening of people to people contacts as well.
Zahid said, the Forum shall also focus on increasing level of bilateral trade between the two countries. Defence cooperation between the two countries is also increasing and we will make sure that the Forum is able to play its role in this regard also.
Those members of core committee who attended the meeting included Col Ihsan Piracha ® Secretary General, Atif Ikram Vice President, Ansar Mahmood Bhatti Media Adviser and Convener, Wajahat Latif, Col Misbah Ahmed ®, Nasir Khan, Shazia Ismat, Kanwal Shauzeb, Naveed Miraj. Anwar Moin, Hasnain Ibrahim Kazmi, Luqman Ali Afzal and Dr. Abrar ul Hasnain could not attend because of their preoccupations. Rene Seicaru from the Romanian embassy will act as the contact person of the Forum. =DNA
