Javed Hashmi falls ill, taken to hospital

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) president and party leader Javed Hashmi was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Monday after he fell ill. Hashmi fell ill during the ongoing PTI protest in Islamabad and was shifted to the PIMS hospital in Islamabad where he is undergoing treatment. A doctor at PIMS said there was nothing to worry about and the hospital was carrying out several tests to determine if Hashmi had throat or chest infection.

The PTI has been protesting against alleged rigging in the 2013 elections and has been demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif whose government it says was formed in the outcome of a rigged election.
