Helping IDPs a collective responsibility: Political leaders

Representatives of different political parties say there should be no point-scoring on the issue of IDPs.Representatives of different political parties have expressed dismay over statement of PTI leader Imran Khan that IDPs were the concern of the Federal Government and not that of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s current affairs programme Nuqta-e-Nazar, PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq said that the IDPs crisis is not an issue of federal or provincial government but of Pakistan and every political party.

Taking part in the programme, PPP leader Rahimdad said the number of IDPs has swelled beyond one million and it is our collective responsibility to look after them and mitigate their sufferings.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaquat Baloch said affected people were suffering from psychological and physical problems and statement of Imran Khan would add to their disappointment.

Jan Achakzai of JUI-F said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is resorting to point-scoring on the issue of IDPs.

Farah Aqil of ANP said the Federal Government is fulfilling its responsibility but the task is huge and all including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should facilitate the people affected by the military operation.
