SIALKOT, The Ambassador of Romania in Pakistan Mr. Emilian Ion has stressed upon the need of making all out sincere efforts to boost the mutual trade ties between Romania and Pakistan. He said that both Romania and Pakistan have been enjoying good friendly and cordial trade relations and now the time was ripe to further strengthen these mutual trade ties, as all the things were moving to the right direction, in this regard. He said that Pakistan was enriched with agriculture and financial resources, while Romania was keen to establish business to business contacts with Pakistan.
He stated this while addressing an important meeting of exporters held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). SCCI President Dr. Sarfraz Bashir and Senior Vice President Mian Muhammad Anwar were also present on this occasion.
Romanian Envoy urged the exporters to divert their business activities to Romania enjoying easy access to the Romanian international trade markets. He said that the Sialkot exporters should explore and capture the Romanian markets by exporting their diversified world class traditional and non-traditional exports.
He asked the exporters to hold the exhibitions of their export products in Romania, besides, enjoying the unique opportunities of promotion and marketing of the Made in Pakistan products there.
Romanian Ambassador narrated that the time was ripe for the Sialkot exporters to take the full advantages of the GSP Plus status and explore and capture the EU markets by exporting their diversified traditional and non-traditional export products.
On this occasion, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Dr. Sarfraz Bashir told the visiting Romanian Ambassador that the Sialkot-made footballs, field hockey sticks, cricket gear and boxing gloves are used in international games including the Olympics and World Cups. Most of the developed countries are importing surgical instruments from Sialkot. In leather products and textile sportswear, we excel in quality and style. Similar is the case with other items produced in Sialkot, he revealed.
Senior Vice President Mian Muhammad Anwar emphasized that both the countries must further strengthen economic relations, through facilitation of governments and close coordination of private sectors.
He added that the Romanian market could have a big demand for the items produced in Sialkot-Pakistan. There is a great potential for establishing joint ventures and business cooperation between Romanian and Sialkot based companies especially in the fields of Sports Goods, Surgical Instruments and Leather Products.
Earlier, Ambassador of Romania Mr. Emilian Ion also visited several leading industrial units in Sialkot amid tight security. He witnessed the international standard craftsmanship of Sialkot based artisans.
Talking to the industrialists and exporters there he said that the Sialkot exporters have a great potential to explore and capture the Romanian trade markets by exporting their world class diversified traditional and non-traditional export items.
He said that the several Romanian companies were ready to establish the joint ventures with Sialkot business community in different trade fields. Both Romania and Pakistan enjoy friendly relations in all fields.
He said that the Romania intended to have developed and strengthened mutual trade relations with Pakistan.
