WASHINGTON, 09 JAN (DNA)-Pakistan Ambassador to the United States, Jalil Abbas Jilani‚ on Thursday conveyed good wishes of the people and the Government of Pakistan to Senator Dianne Feinstein and expressed the desire to work with her to further strengthen the important relationship between Pakistanand the United States. Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani met with Senator Dianne Feinstein, a top Democrat from California, who chairs the Select Committee on Intelligence, and discussed enhancing relations between the two countries.
He briefed Senator Feinstein on the latest developments in the relationship including the recent several high level exchanges from both sides as well as the forthcoming meetings. Matters of mutual interest including Afghanistan were also discussed.
Senator Feinstein showed her keen interest in working with the democratic government of Pakistan and assisting the Pakistani people in overcoming their economic and security challenges.
After assuming responsibilities as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Washington D.C., this was Jilani’s first formal interaction on the Capitol Hill. =DNA
